Industrial spinning is a technological process in which loose textile fibers (natural or synthetic) are mechanically processed and twisted into a thread or yarn, which is the basic material for further textile production (weaving, knitting, binding).
Fiber is the basic building block of all textiles. It can be of natural or chemical origin, of various lengths and profiles. The input material to the spinning mill is most often fiber raw material pressed in bales, which can be in a raw or partially processed state.
The goal of spinning is to create strong, continuous and sufficiently long threads with the desired properties (thickness, strength, elasticity) that correspond to further use.
Main stages of industrial spinning
Fiber preparation: The fibers are first loosened, mixed, cleaned, carded and combed to remove impurities and align the fibers in a parallel direction. This step is crucial to ensure the quality of the resulting yarn
Fiber twisting: The prepared fibers are drawn out and twisted into a thread. Twisting gives the yarn strength and cohesion. In industrial conditions, this process is carried out on specialized spinning machines that allow precise control of the speed, direction and intensity of the twist. The result of the process
The result of spinning is yarn - a continuous strand of fibers connected by a twist, which is the basis for the production of textile products such as fabrics and knitwear. The strength, thickness and other properties of the yarn are influenced by the origin of the fibers, the method of preparation and the settings of the spinning machine parameters.
